Call for Applications-World Student Community for Sustainable Development(WSC-SD)

Deadline:14 March 2011

UFH-WSCSD is a globally affiliated student organisation, operating under the auspices of the global World Student Community for Sustainable Development (WSCSD). The WSC-SD is a multi-disciplinary network of motivated students with the ability to think and act both locally and globally, and who share the vision to make a difference. Its purpose is to be a leading international student organization that carries out meaningful projects which result in positive and enduring changes that improve lives and communities around the world (www.wscsd.org).

The organization is seeking application from interested members of this academic community to be part of this global initiative. We are building a community of passionate and visionary leaders worldwide. This is a lifetime opportunity for you to get involved and make a difference. Together we can build a sustainable society where the environment is safe for all and the threat of climate change is mitigated.

UFH-WSCSD is in a strategic partnership with the South East African Climate Consortium- Student Forum (SEACC-SF) and some other relevant local and international organizations whose area of concern is the environment. Your membership of WSC-SD also qualifies you to automatically get affiliated to SEACC-SF and these other organizations.

"The founding members of SEACC are Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), Rhodes University, Sustainable Seas Trust, University of Fort Hare and the Wilderness Foundation. The Universities in SEACC aspire to build human capital with the expertise and excellence to make substantive contribution to the knowledge necessary to mitigate and cope with climate change".

It is our belief that you will find these organizations informative and empowering as you make a decision to be part of what we are doing.
